Traffic to this website is much slower over the weekend as opposed to weekdays. I guess this is cool, as it means that people are getting out and enjoying themselves. The only bad thing is that I was going to start a weekly, recurrent post - How to Get Laid in Twenty Seconds. It was going to be posted every Saturday. Now, I don’t know…

According to the local CBS affiliate, the high today was 49 degrees. This qualifies as a witch’s tit here in California. Anytime the temperature doesn’t get past 50 degrees it’s considered cold.

This is wimpy cold to most of America. I remember when I visited my good friend Chris in Massachusetts back in March, 2003. He wanted to have a BBQ when the temperature couldn’t have been more than 55 degrees. I wore a heavy coat every time I was outside. Temperature highs were in the 50’s throughout my weeklong visit.

During my previous visit, his co-workers poked fun at me because I wore a sweater in May.

It used to get very cold here in Bakersfield. When I was in high school, I remember temperature highs of 38 degrees. Since I came back to here in 2001, and I have kept track of this because my mind likes strange facts, the coldest day we have had was a high of 40 degrees – one time. That day, I thought I knew what it must feel like to live in Nebraska.

Late

How is it that people can drink coffee or soda late at night and still get to sleep comfortably? I drank two cups of coffee at 10PM last night. I thought, “Who cares if I stay up late?” I was a little tired and had some things I wanted to get done. Welll, I talked to my buddy Adam on the phone and goofed off here at the blog. Now, it’s a quarter after 2 in the morning and I’m watching late night news. I’m not tired at all and feel a little edgy. I know quite a few people that drink coffee and Pepsi every night just before they go to bed. They get to sleep with no problem. Not me.

I had big plans tonight: answer some correspondence, do some laundry, maybe watch the football game with some friends. Atop of that, my usual whirlwind brain started thinking up new small tasks that could be done (wash the five dishes in the sink!). Well, here it is 9:30 PM and I’ve just been peetering around the house since 4 o’ clock. I did watch Law and Order: CI. Don’t underestimate the character of Detective Eames. She is the straight man to Goren. Without her, the show would not be as good. She keeps him in line. The NBC bio of her character sucks, but unbelievably, Wikipedia has a profile.
